Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Zyka

Sheikh Abdur-Rahman is the current Imam and Hifz Strategist of Minaret College, Melbourne. Born in Melbourne, he has lived and studied in Saudi Arabia for over 12 years. He holds a Bachelor of Shari’a, specialising in Fiqh and Usul Ul-Fiqh, from the University of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud, Riyadh. During his time overseas, he studied Shaf’ii Fiqh, Islamic theology and Hadeeth along with other Islamic sciences, in the province of Al-Ahsaa. He holds multiple Ijazaat in Quran, Tajweed, Hadeeth, and several traditional texts. He has previously worked as the Imam of Lysterfield Mosque in Melbourne and has taught Qur’an, Arabic and Hadeeth in several institutions locally and overseas. Sheikh Abdur-Rahman is a member of Board of Imams Victoria and the Australian National Imams Council.
